- Multiple types of disk tests.
- Supports Hotfixing of bad sectors for NetWare partitions.
- Determine sequential and random I/O disk performance.
- NetWare 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x
- Supports various I/O block sizes.
- Extensive analysis feature including bit-walking.
- Supports automatic Hotfixing of defecting sectors.
- NetWare Partition Verify detects areas of the partition that are already Hotfixed and verifies the hotfixed areas instead of the original sectors.
- Detects errors in the System Data Area of a NetWare partition.
- Displays NWPA and DSK drive details.
Various verify methods are supported:
1.Read-Only sequential verify. This method performs a read only sequential scan of the disk drive. Various block sizes are supported from 1 sector to 512 sectors per I/O. No data is written to the drive. This method is also a quick method to determine the read performance of a disk drive.
2.Read-Only random verify. This method performs a read only random scan of the disk drive. The software generates a random number that is used to determine the sector to read. Various block sizes are supported from 1 sector to 512 sectors per I/O. No data is written to the drive. This method is also a quick method to determine the random I/O performance of a disk drive.
3.Read-Write sequential verify. This method verifies that data can be written to a disk drive and then read back. A data pattern that is unique to each sector is written to the disk and then compared on read back. Various block sizes are supported from 1 sector to 512 sectors per I/O. For this verify mode an option is to perform an extensive verify which writes multiple data patterns to the disk drive. This includes performing a bit-walk data pattern to detect missing sector bits. Data is written to the drive, which will destroy all partitions, volumes and data on the disk drive.
4.Read-Write random verify. This method verifies that the data can be written to a disk drive and then read back. The software generates a random number that is used to determine the sector to write / read.
Virtual Library Support - NetVault backups do not always have to be directed to a physical media device, NetVault allows users with the ability to perform backups directly to a virtual library in which drives, libraries and slots have been created on a hard drive. This method takes advantage of higher speed data transfer methods such as fibre channel and maximizes backup performance.
