Right-Sized for Standard Servers

XenServer is built to support the capacity and capabilities of popular industry standard servers. It supports dual socket servers with up to 8GB of RAM, hosting up to eight virtual machines on each system. XenServer systems can be upgraded to the full capabilities of XenEnterprise by the simple addition of a license key, with no need to reinstall software or convert guests.

Windows Guest Support

XenServer leverages Intel VT or AMD-V x86-based hardware virtualization assist to support Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, with Windows 2000 support to be added in the first quarter of 2007.

Blazing Fast Performance

There is simply no comparison between XenServer's virtualisation performance and those of traditional virtualisation offerings. XenServer's advanced paravirtualisation architecture offers near “bare-metal” performance on supported servers.

On Demand Deployment of Windows Virtual Machines

XenServer allows you to provision new virtual machines easily and rapidly, to clone existing machines for fast deployment, and to back up archive, or import virtual machines with a click of a button. XenServer allows you to:

If you need to run more than 8 GB of physical RAM or more than 8 concurrent virtual machines, you need XenEnterprise.

To support XenVMs running Windows, an Intel VT or AMD-V x86-based system with up to 32 processors is required.

XenServer is fully backed by XenSource's extensive partner community offering tailored expert support programs. Whether you're looking for online help, engineering assistance, or hands-on support from one of our many Solution Providers, you'll find the level of support you need.
